Policies and Procedures

Daily attendance is very important for your child to get the most benefit from our program. Your child should arrive at 8:30 a.m. If your child is absent due to illness, please call the office. If your child is running a fever, please keep them home. Please do not send your child to school sick. Please try to make all doctor or dental appointments during non-school hours.

Students are to read 20 minutes a day. They will be given a reading log on Mondays to fill out. The reading logs are due on for the previous week on Mondays.

Students are to practice math skills for 10 to 15 minutes a day.

If any assignment is turned in late, points will be taken off.

Students will use their student planners to keep track of their homework

 Grading System

A 90-100

B 80-89

C 70-79

D 60-69

F 0-59

Grade Changes

No grade will be altered or changed without consultation with the Lead teacher and approval by the Administration. It is expected that grades will be supported by defined and consistent criteria supported by sufficient documentation. Typically, changes will only be made to correct mathematical errors. However, changes to grades can take place if inconsistent grading or faulty scores are discovered.

 Student Progress

If you have a question or concern about your child’s progress in class, please call, email, or make an appointment with me. We will have two schedule conferences throughout the year.

Hot Lunch

Al-Huda Academy offers a daily hot lunch program for your convenience. Milk is free of charge for all students.

We are a NUT FREE school.  If your child suffers from allergies, particularly food allergies, please let us know right away. It is important that we have this information on file.

Because of being a nut-free school and other food allergies, please DO NOT bring birthday treats to school.

Please read the Al-Huda Academy parent handbook for the guidelines.

Each student is expected to participate in gym activities. All students need to wear their gym uniforms along with gym shoes.

Field Trips

We will be planning a number of field trips throughout the school year. All permission slips must be returned on time. If chaperones are needed, parents will be informed. No siblings or other family members are allowed to accompany on school sponsor field trips.

 Scholastic Book Orders

Every month I will be sending home book club form orders. Please order online or by check or exact money. I do not expect parents to order each month. With each order, I receive points to buy new books and educational materials for our classroom.
